Awards Judging Process

The Global Sport Tourism Awards undergo rigorous and competitive assessment in line with international processes. We bring together the expertise of our prestigious judges from across the tourism and sport sector, inviting them to share their unique perspectives and considerable experience to assess our nominees.

  1. Submissions
    We encourage tourism and sport innovators and ventures to submit nominations for consideration.Closing date for Global Sport Tourism Awards Entry is Friday October 21st 2016. Submissions can be made in any of our main categories:
  2. Longlisting
    Once submissions are received from the industry, they are processed for confirmation and eligibility for the Awards. A longlist per category will go forward to the next stage of the process.
  3. Judging Day
    Our panel of judges discuss, debate and adjudicate which organisations, individuals and destinations should be recognised for an Award. Chaired by Professor Terry Stevens, our experts from across the sport and tourism sector use their considerable experience and knowledge to choose the most innovative and inspirational nominees as shining examples in Sport Tourism.
  4. Shortlisting 
    A carefully selected shortlist of organisations are selected ahead of the Awards ceremony at World Travel Market. The shortlist is announced to the media and public by Friday 28th October

Shortlisted organisations, destinations etc are then invited to attend the award giving ceremony at the World Travel Market where we announce the winners as part of Global Sport Tourism Summit, and celebrate their stories with an audience of their peers, the media, and global tourism organisations.
