The first Global Sport Tourism Summit with WTM London will be hosted on Monday November 7th at the Excel Centre, London. Attendees will hear from leading global experts from sport, tourism professionals, events and destinations who will discuss trends in the worlds fastest growing tourism sector. The first Global Sport Tourism Awards will also feature as part of the event at WTM London.
The event will attract professionals from a variety of sectors from sports bodies, federations, events, marketing and tourism destination development companies eager to attract global sports events or develop their own sports tourism strategies.
This year the event will focus on how destinations attract major events, how digital marketing is shaping the ways events develop, how major brands focus on major sports tourism events and discussions on best practice across the industry
The event is promoted by W2 Consulting and WTM London. W2 Consulting work with destinations, organisations and brands in the delivery of events and strategies that focus on return on investment. Announcing the Summit, W2 director Keith Wood said that the Sport Tourism industry is on a steep upward curve globally and represents a huge opportunity for mature and growing destinations. “Sports Tourism is huge business globally. Research has shown that sport tourists spend up to double the amount traditional tourists spend.
